Construction of road from Bhagwanpur to Gurudwara Sahib at the boundary of Lohgarh in Yamunanagar district approved..

Chandigarh, Sept 27– Haryana Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal here today approved a proposal of Public Works (Building and Roads) Department to purchase five kanal 12 marla land from owners at collector rates for the construction of road from Bhagwanpur to Gurudwara Sahib at the boundary of Lohgarh in Yamunanagar district.
The land would be purchased at collector rate of Rs 16 lakh per acre applicable for year 2016-17.
Lohgarh Sahib, which is a holy ancient historical town, is the first Sikh State Capital under Baba Banda Singh Ji Bahadur during the early 18th century. A large number of devotees from adjoining states visit the holy Gurudwara Sahib. It is necessary to construct 2.5 kms road and a bridge connecting Bhagwanpur and Lohgarh Sahib so as to develop Lohgarh Sahib, a tourist destination.
The Cabinet also approved the proposal of Development and Panchayats Department regarding exchange of Shamilat land measuring 12 kanal and four marla of Gram Panchayat Sandeel, Block Alewa, district Jind with the land measuring 12 kanal five marla of Mr Sajjan Singh. This will enable construction of 33 KV sub-station by Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited.
The Cabinet also approved exchange of Shamilat land measuring four kanal and four marla of Gram Panchayat Gumthala Rao, Block Radaur, district Yamunanagar with that of private persons, land measuring four kanal and four marla, for the construction of community centre or Janjghar.
