Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam have been making constant efforts to check electricity thefts and its illegal use.

Chandigarh, September 6- Uttar andc A provision has been made in Electricity Act to protect consumers from any excess. Haryana Government has appointed Appellate Authority in all circles of the State with immediate effect, with whom the consumers could register their appeal against penalty imposed for power theft.

While giving this information here today, an official spokesman said that under section 126 and 135 of Electricity Act, actions were being taken against the accused of illegal use of electricity and its theft. The consumers have also been given the facility of appealing with Appellate Authority of their area, against the penalty imposed on them.

He said that the officers of Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam have been appointed Appellate Authority in every circle. Superintending Engineers of Prasaran Nigam have been appointed Appellate Authority in Karnal, Rohtak, Hisar, Gurugram and Faridabad Circle while Superintending Engineer/SLDC, Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam for Sonepat and Panipat Circle. Similarly, appeals could be made to Executive Engineers in Jhajjar, Narnaul, Rewari, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind, Sirsa, Bhiwani and Palwal Circle, he added.
