Stringent security arrangements have been made for maintaining law and order situation in the State.
Chandigarh, Aug 20 – Haryana Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. B.S. Sandhu, today said that stringent security arrangements have been made for maintaining law and order situation in the State ahead of verdict to be delivered by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in the case of Dera Sacha Sauda Chief, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, on August 25, 2017.
“Haryana Police is on alert and fully-prepared to tackle any situation. The Central Government has provided 35 companies of paramilitary forces, the deployment of which has already started. Focus is on districts Sirsa, Fatehabad and Panchkula where heavy deployment of paramilitary forces has been done. Law and order situation will be maintained with the assistance and cooperation of the people,” assured the DGP.
He said that social media activities were being closely monitored and necessary instructions had been issued to the Superintendents of Police and other senior officers in the districts to maintain strict vigil and report and immediately resolve even minor incidents.
The DGP said that talks were being held with officers of neighbouring states Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh for cooperation in maintaining law and order situation.
He said that efforts were being made to establish coordination with followers of Dera Sacha Sauda through dialogue, and their cooperation was being sought through meeting with ‘shanti samiti’. Appeals have also been made to Gurdwara Parbandhaks for assistance in maintaining peace and law and order, he added.
