Haryana Election Department has established State Contact Centre (SCC) – toll free number 1950

Chandigarh, Jun 28 – With a view to provide quality electoral services, thec at 30-Bays Building, Sector 17, Chandigarh. District Contact Centres (DCC) have also been established in all districts of the state.
This was informed by Chief Electoral Officer, Mr. Ankur Gupta after launching the State Contact Centre (SCC) – toll-free number 1950 here today. Users of Haryana circle can dial 0172-1950 and of Punjab circle can dial only 1950.
He said that the SCC would function on all working days from 9a.m. to 5p.m. The calls received through the SCC and the National Contact Centre (NCC) established by the Election Commission in New Delhi, would flow for further necessary action and response to the callers. The call from citizens at the toll-free number would be attended by the operator, who would enter the grievance in Unified Public Grievance Redress System (UPGRS) and update the same from time to time as per status.
For quick response on the grievances DCCs have also been established in the offices of the District Election Officers at all district headquarters. All the district election offices are well-equipped with sufficient computer infrastructure, internet and STD phone facilities, he added.
Mr. Gupta said that administrative and technical nodal officers have been appointed at state and district headquarters to review the grievances, suggestions and information received through contact centres. Training has been imparted to the staff concerned in the Indian Institute of International Democracy and Electoral Management (IIIDEM), New Delhi and at state and district levels.
