Kaptan Singh Solanki, in a symbolic gesture, today presented construction material, including bricks and cement, for different projects being undertaken in the memory of martyrs under the ‘Ek Einth Shaheed ke Naam’ campaign in the State.
Chandigarh, Jun 10 – Haryana Governor, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, in a symbolic gesture, today presented construction material, including bricks and cement, for different projects being undertaken in the memory of martyrs under the ‘Ek Einth Shaheed ke Naam’ campaign in the State.
The Governor presented the material for construction of memorial of Martyr Sushil Kumar, a resident of Pehowa, district Kurukshetra, and for ‘akhada’ being constructed in the memory of Martyr Ram Mehar, resident of village Kheri Mansingh, district Karnal.
Describing the campaign as a beautiful gesture which would serve as a source of motivation, Prof. Solanki said that the campaign would remind people of the sacrifice made by the martyrs, and would instil the spirit of patriotism and respect for the soldiers in them. He also assured all possible support to the campaign.
The construction material received from people under the campaign would be used in various projects, including construction of modern akhada in the name of Martyr Ram Mehar, who had dreamt of establishing such a facility after his retirement from the Army.
The families of martyrs Lieutenant Colonel Bikramjit Singh and Major Sandeep Shankla would ensure transportation of construction material received from Chandigarh and Panchkula, respectively, to Karnal.
