Chandigarh, Jun 3– Science City will soon be established at a cost of about Rs 200 crore in the part of National Capital Region (NCR) falling in Haryana. Besides, development of Kurukshetra as a tourism destination will be carried out on a grand scale.
While giving this information here today, an official spokesman said that Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal had held a meeting in this regard with Union Minister of State for Tourism and Culture, Dr. Mahesh Sharma, in New Delhi, last evening.
He said that discussion was held regarding the proposed Science City, which would be developed in Sonepat or Gurugram. The site would be finalised after survey, and it is planned that the project would be completed by December, 2018, he added.
He said that the Chief Minister also held discussion regarding promotion of tourism in Haryana. Kurukshetra would be developed further as a destination for religious and cultural tourism. It is being planned to develop Herbal Park in Kalesar-Kalka area, and to develop Dhanchiri in Gurugram, the site of origin of Saraswati River, Adi Badri and Lohgarh, the capital of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur’s state, as tourism destinations. Other initiatives have also been planned to boost tourism in the State, he added.
