Youth- the driving force of tomorrow: Dr. Mahavir
Panchkula-24 April, The youth of today is the driving force of tomorrow. Youth empowerment, through education will strengthen national strategies.
These were the words of Dr. Mahavir Singh, Principal Secretary, Higher
Education, Haryana at the 25th Convocation & Annual Prize Distribution Function of Govt. PG College, Sec 1, Panchkula. Dr. Singh, the Chief Guest said that the full participation and empowerment of youth especially at the national and grassroots levels
is indispensable for achieving the well being of the entire nation. He
said that the he students of this college have remarkable achievements in various categories.
The Principal Secretary during the Convocational Address highlighted the contribution of Haryana in the field of higher education. He congratulated the fresh degree holders and wished them great success in the future. He awarded degrees to the graduates and
post-graduates. He appreciated the infrastructure of the college as well as the achievements of the students in various fields specially in sports.
Dr. Archana Mishra, Principal of the College, presented the annual report of 2016-17. She highlighted the achievements of the
college in the field of academics, sports , culture etc. The Principal encouraged the students to get inspiration from the life of Dr. Mahavir.
The third edition of college Newsletter CAMPUS BUZZ was also released
by Dr.Mahavir Singh PSHE on this occasion.This Newsletter is designed
,prepared & published by PG & UG students of Journalism & Mass
Communication under their teacher’s guidance and includes the activities of college campus.The periodicity of Campus Buzz is 6 months & released after the end of each semester.
As many as 366 students were conferred degrees in which 60 are
from MA , 68 from M.Com, 33 from B Sc, 24 from BCA, 18 from BMC, 18 from BA & 109 from B.Com. Among achievers, 27(19-Sports, 3-Academic & 1 NCC, 1 cultural & 3 extra curricular activities) students were
awarded Roll of Honour,37 were awarded College Colour & 111 Special Prize for bringing laurels to the college.
The degree holders & prize winners were in jubilant mood. They were full of enthusiasm while having snaps in their groups after the event. Dr.Richa Setia & Dr.Kum Kum Gupta & Dr. Renuka Dyani compered
the programme effectively.
