wheat has started arriving in the mandis of Haryana.
Chandigarh, April 7 – As wheat has started arriving in the mandis of Haryana, the five government procuring agencies have purchased 1,50,447 metric tonnes of wheat at Minimum Support Price out of the total arrival of 1,50,462 metric tonnes of wheat till yesterday.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said the procurement process was running smoothly in the mandis.
Giving details of the wheat procured by government agencies, he said that 36,942 metric tonnes of wheat has been procured by Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, whereas Haryana State Co-operative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (HAFED) has purchased 44,855 metric tonnes of wheat. He said that Food Corporation of India has purchased 21,596 metric tonnes of wheat, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation has purchased 378 metric tonnes and 46,676 metric tonnes of wheat has been procured by Haryana Warehousing Corporation.
The spokesman said that district Palwal was leading in wheat arrival where 85,966 metric tonnes of the crop had procured followed by district Mewat, which recorded 27,693 metric tonnes of wheat arrival. Similarly, 14,947 metric tonnes of wheat had been procured in Faridabad, 8621 metric tonnes in Sonipat, 4074 metric tonnes in Panipat, 2686 metric tonnes in Ambala, 2353 metric tonnes in Karnal, 1920 metric tonnes in Jhajjar, 942 metric tonnes in Yamunanagar, 788 metric tonnes in Panchkula and 472 metric tonnes in Narnaul.
