Space technology would contribute significantly towards development of the State-Khemka.
Chandigarh, Mar 21 – Haryana Principal Secretary, Science and Technology Department, Dr. Ashok Khemka, said that space technology would contribute significantly towards development of the State, as satellite data could be utilised for developing cities, villages and other land resources.
Dr. Ashok Khemka was speaking after inaugurating two-day Golden Jubilee Celebration and Regional Conference on Space Technology for Sustainable Development organised jointly by Haryana Space Applications Centre (HARSAC), Department of Science and Technology, Hisar and Indian Society of Geomatics – Hisar Chapter at CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar today.
He said that space technology could be used for mapping and monitoring of natural resources, natural calamities, changes in environment, groundwater utilisation, forests and urbanisation. This would lead to acceleration in pace of development, he added.
