Mr Manohar Lal, has expressed profound grief over the demise of Major Satish Dahiya, who laid down his life while fighting the militants at Kralgund.

Chandigarh, Feb 15 –The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, has expressed profound grief over the demise of Major Satish Dahiya, who laid down his life while fighting the militants at Kralgund in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, yesterday. He also mourned the death of three other soldiers who were killed in another encounter at Hajin in Bandipora district, the same day.
In a condolence message issued here today, the Chief Minister saluted the extraordinary courage exhibited by the martyrs and said brave soldiers were always ready to sacrifice their lives to safeguard the honour of the nation.
Expressing heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family, Mr Manohar Lal said Major Satish Dahiya would continue to live in the hearts of the people of the state through his brave deeds. The supreme sacrifice made by him has brought pride to the entire state and the country, he added.
Major Dahiya, who was deployed in 30 Rashtriya Rifles, belonged to Banihari village of Mahendragarh district, had joined the Army in 2009. Major Dahiya is survived by his wife, Mrs Sujata Devi, and daughter Priya, aged two-and-a-half years.
