Haryana Government has decided to constitute a Committee to formulate a State Level Training Programme on ‘Organic Farming’ for farmers’ of the State. The training programme would be started in collaboration with Gurukul, Kurukshetra. While stating this here today, a spokesman of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department said that while Director General, Horticulture Mr Arjun Singh Saini would be the Chairman of the Committee, Additional Director Agriculture (Extension) Mr Suresh Gahlawat would be the Member Secretary. He said that the Committee would chalk out the content of the training programmes with its duration, time and frequency. It will also make arrangements of experts, professionals and scientists to be associated with these training programmes. The other issues to be chalked out by the Committee included funding provision from Government of India, State Government for various components of the training programmes like infrastructural development and assessment of existing facilities for training with Gurukul, Kurukshetra. The other members of the Committee included Additional Director, Agriculture (SC), Mr V. S. Raparia, Joint Director, Horticulture, Mr Ranbir Singh, a representative of Director, Regional Centre of Organic Farming (RCOF), Panchkula, a representative of Vice Chancellor, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University , Hisar, not below the rank of Head of Department, a representative of Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH), not below the rank of Joint Director, a representative of Director General, Animal Husbandry, not below the rank of Joint Director and Deputy Director, Agriculture, Kurukshetra. He said that the Committee would meet before February 20, 2017 and make suitable recommendations to the State Government.
