Disclosing this while addressing a press conference in Panchkula, today, the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, said the state government had given a proposal to this effect to the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission (HERC), the regulatory agency for power tariff. A final decision would be taken soon, subject to approval by the HERC.

There were about 32 lakh metered connections in 55 lakh households in the state at that time. Panchkula district has been covered under this scheme.
