Panchkula-1 Feb,Invoking the Goddes Goddess of Learning Saraswati, the students of DC Model Sr. Sec School celebrated Basant Panchami s of which heralds the onset of Spring Season, with gaiety and fervour in school . On this occasion a special assembly was conducted by the students of class prep ____. The assembly commenced with the worship and garlanding of goddess Saraswati with Shloka recitation by the students. The students spoke highlighting the significance of the day. After the traditional rituals, Saraswati Vandana was offered by the students beseeching Her benediction. The celebration included various prayers, songs, poems and dances which were applauded by everyone. The highlight of the celebration was the vivacious dance item “chali chali re patang meri” in which the students showcased their innate potential and extreme exhilaration. It was a visual treat to see the participants performing in glittering attire with colourful kites as props. The most remarkable thing was that all the students attired themselves in yellow which signifies the brilliance of nature and the vibrancy of life. They also had yellow eatables in tiffin which they shared with one another.
Yet another exciting event on the occasion was the traditional kite flying competition for the senior students. Keeping the spirits of the festival alive, the students enjoyed the kite flying competition and displayed immense agility, vigour, enthusiasm and sportive spirit in the competition. Number of colourful kites could be spotted flying high in the sky. The Principal Smt Usha Gupta felicitated everyone and applauded the students efforts saying that such celebration make our young generation proud of our ancient and traditional culture. The coordinator Mrs Deepika Bharadwaj and Mrs Sarika Malik congratulated on the day and emphasized to observe the values , this festival teaches us in our lives.
