Chandigarh Nov 21 – Haryana State Pollution Control Board has urged the people not to use fire crackers during marriage functions and other celebrations as this not only spread pollution but could also result in accidents.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Board said that due to bursting of firecrackers, poisonous and dangerous gases like carbon monoxide, sulfur-dioxide and heavy metal particles released in the atmosphere which also cause noise pollution.
He said that with the use of fire crackers, there is always a danger of erupting fire incidents in the houses and the possibility of accidents like injury to eyes and skin. He said that the release of dangerous gases could also result in various fatal diseases like kidney failure, heart attack and cancer. Not only this, the burning of fire crackers also disrupt the peace of humans and animals both, he added.
