Tomato Ketchup manufacturing plant in Kalka assembly constituency

Chandigarh October 10- Union Minister of Food and Public Distribution, Mr Ram Vilas Paswan has assured that he would take up the matter with Union Minister of Food Processing Mrs Harsimrat Kaur Badal for the setting up of a Tomato Ketchup manufacturing plant in Kalka assembly constituency.
Mr Paswan assured MLA Kalka, Mrs Latika Sharma of the project, as she had urged him to set up such a plant in the area as though tomatoes are cultivated on a large scale in Morni area, yet the farmers face a lot of problems in their transportation to the mandis due to hilly terrain.
As Mrs Latika Sharma met the Union Minister last evening in Panchkula, she also submitted a written request to him to set up such a plant in the area.
The Union Minister said that he would make every possible effort for the setting up of this plant and would take up the matter with Mrs Harsimrat Kaur Badal as she holds the portfolio of Department of Food Processing.
Later, while interacting with the media persons, Mr Paswan said that the work of linking ration cards with Aadhar cards would soon be completed and added that 66 per cent of the work has already been completed. He claimed that 90 per cent of this work would be completed by 2017 and by the year 2018, hundred per cent target would be achieved. With linking of ration cards with Aadhar cards, about 2.62 crore fake ration cards have been cancelled, he added.
While referring to the surgical strike carried out by the Indian Army, he said that Army is performing its duty and it better understands what is to be done and what not to be. He hailed the action by the Indian Army and said that the whole country stands united with the Army and feeling proud. This has also increased the morale of the Indian Army, he asserted.
