The arthiyas in Haryana would be able to carry out procurement of paddy through both e-system as well as manually

Chandigarh, Sept 24 – During the Kharif procurement season starting from October 1,2016, the arthiyas in Haryana would be able to carry out procurement of paddy through both e-system as well as manually as the Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Mr. Ram Vilas Paswan and Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal would launch the e-procurement portal in Karnal on September 27, 2016.]

This was disclosed by Chief Administrator, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, Dr. J. Ganesan today.
He said that a mobile application would also be launched at the same function which would provide all necessary information to farmers, arthiyas and traders. The J-form would also be available on this application. He said that those arthiyas who were unable to operate computer, their work would be completed by the concerned Secretary, Market Committee. He said that while 31 mandis of the state have already been linked with National Agriculture Market, five more mandis would soon be linked and business of Rs 120 crore has sofar been done, he added.
He said that at present the work of gate passing would be done manually. At present, farmers and arthiyas need to be made aware of the benefits of e-procurement system. Therefore, hoardings should be displayed in mandis and brouchers should also be printed in Hindi language and circulated among arthiyas, he added.
Dr. Ganesan said that the Board would launch SMS service under which farmers would get information about the procurement. He said that besides mandi system, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department has also been linked with e-procurement and in future HAFED and FCI would also be linked with it. He said that Secretaries have connected about 34,000 arthiyas online in a very short time for which they deserve appreciation.
He made it clear that arthiyas have option to make payment to farmer concerned through e-system or through them. All Secretaries of Market Committees would login in the e-system on October 1, 2016, he added.
