Sh. V.P Singh Badnore today paid visit to the U.T Secretariat.

Chandigarh, 20th September 2016:- Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T Chandigarh, Sh. V.P Singh Badnore today paid visit to the U.T Secretariat. Sh. V.P Singh Badnore, called for a meeting with all the senior officers of the U.T Administration and discussed on the current status of the Solar Car Project and Vintage Car and Bikers Rally which is part of the celebrations of the World Tourism week which would be celebrated in Chandigarh from 22nd September to 27th September 2016.
During his visit he reviewed the current status of the Dengue and Chickungunya cases in the city. Dr. Vanita Gupta, Director Health Services discussed in detail about the recent cases of Dengue and Chickungunya in the city. Up till now 149 case of Dengue and 6 cases of Chickungunya have been found in Chandigarh. Out of the 6 of Chickungunya 2 are from Chandigarh and 4 are imported from neighboring regions. Hon’ble Administrator further directed the civic body as well as the Health Department to ensure that necessary measures are taken to ensure the safety of the residents in the city along with Mopping operations as well as fumigation to be done in especially those areas where more cases of these diseases have been detected.
