In Haryana Bajra and paddy would begin on October 1.

Chandigarh, September 19 – The Haryana Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (Independent Charge), Mr. Karan Dev Kamboj, has said that with a view to facilitating the farmers, 218 mandis and procurement centres have been launched in the state for procurement of bajra and paddy. Procurement at these mandis and centres would begin on October 1.
He said that the ratio of paddy to be procured by different agencies this season had also been fixed. While the Food and Supplies Department and HAFED would procure 33 per cent of the total arrivals each, the Food Corporation of India and Haryana State Warehousing Corporation would procure 12 per cent each, and the Haryana Agro Industries Corporation would procure 10 per cent of the total arrivals, he added.
Mr Kamboj said that during the Kharif season, 38 mandis and procurement centres had been established in Fatehabad, 21 in Kaithal, 18 each in Kurukshetra and Sirsa, 15 in Karnal, 14 in Ambala and 13 each in Jind and Yamunanagar. Similarly, eight mandis and centres each were established in Panipat and Hisar, six in Sonepat, five in Palwal, three each in Fariadbad and Panchkula, two each in Mewat, Jhajjar and Bhiwani, and one each in Gurgaon, Rohtak and Rewari.
The Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Grade-A paddy has been fixed at Rs 1,510 per quintal and that of general category at Rs 1,470 per quintal as per the norms of the Food Corporation of India. Similarly, the MSP of bajra has been fixed at Rs 1,330 per quintal, Jowar Rs 1,625 per quintal and maize at Rs 1,365 per quintal, he added.
