‘Jokhim Prabandhan Aur Pashudhan Bima Yojana’ would be launched tomorrow for cattle breeders.
Chandigarh, July 28 – Haryana Agriculture Minister, Mr. O.P. Dhankar said that ‘Jokhim Prabandhan Aur Pashudhan Bima Yojana’ would be launched tomorrow for cattle breeders.
Mr. Dhankar was interacting with media persons after redressing the grievances of people here today.
He criticised the opposition parties for misleading the people regarding the ‘Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana’. He said, “It is always good to have a strong opposition in democracy and sometimes the opposition can also give constructive suggestions to the government on some issues, but in Haryana a party has many groups, therefore, how can one expect anything from them”.
He said that when the Government introduced the Fasal Bima Yojana, the opposition was busy making statements regarding insurance companies whereas everyone knows that these companies provide every type of insurance be it for a vehicle or an individual.
In reply to a question, the Minister said the Government wanted to make every person risk free. Under the ‘Jokhim Prabandhan Aur Pashudhan Bima Yojana’, insurance cover would be provided for cows, buffaloes, bulls, camel at a premium of Rs 100 and for sheep, goat, pig at Rs 25 for a period of three years. The insurance companies would give compensation in case of death of animal. The scheme is free of cost for cattle breeders belonging to Scheduled Castes therefore no premium would be charged from them.
It may be recalled that after getting information about death of several animals in village Nidana, district Jind, Mr. Dhankar had announced to give Rs 25,000 for each dead buffalo and Rs 10,000 for each dead calf, out of his discretionary funds.
