Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki. celebrated his 78th birthday
Panchkula, July 1- Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor of Haryana,Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh Union Territory, today celebrated his 78th birthday by visiting Haryana Welfare Society for Hearing and Speech Handicapped in Panchkula where he and his wife, Mrs Rani Solanki, distributed gifts to differently-abled children. They also planted a sapling.
On the occasion, Prof. Solanki said that he had come to seek blessings of these children as they are more near to God. He said that this place develops sensitivity and essential human values. He told the students that they are not alone as society and the government is with them.
Accompanied by his wife Mrs Rani and son Mr Prabal, the Governor also cut the cake.The Governor was also greeted by many leaders, officers, officials and distinguished citizens who called on him at Haryana Raj Bhawan, here and wished him good health and long life.
Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu, Agriculture Minister, Mr O. P. Dhankar, MP Mr Ratan Lal Kataria, MLAs Mr Gian Chand Gupta and Mrs Latika Sharma visited the Governor and greeted him on his birthday.Since morning people from Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh and other areas called on him with greetings. The prominent among them were Adviser to Administrator Chandigarh UT, Mr Parimal Rai, Additional Chief Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs,Haryana, Dr K. K. Khandelwal, Additional Chief Secretary, Information and Public Relations, Mrs Dheera Khandelwal, State Election Commissioner, Mr Rajeev Sharma, Deputy Advocate General Mr Sushil Gautam, General Secretary, Haryana State Council for Child Welfare, Mrs Santosh Atreja and Vice Chancellors of many universities. The Governor thanked all the visitors who had come to greet him.
