Second Day of Chandigarh Yoga Festival Chandigarh, 10th June, 2016: Second Day of Chandigarh Yoga Festival started with a Symposium on “Yoga for Good” held at CII, Chandigarh today. Hon’ble Governor Haryana & Punjab and Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Prominent amongst others were Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS, Adviser to Administrator, Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS, Home Secretary, Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Dinesh Dua, Chairman CII Chandigarh, Dr. H.R. Nagindra, Vice Chancellor, Svyasa University and Professor Sanjay Vasant Deshmukh, Vice Chancellor, University of Mumbai. The first day of symposium had four different sessions on Yoga 1. Yoga in Ancient India chaired by Sh. R.N. Prasher, former Principal Secretary Irrigation and Power, former Principal Adviser to Chief Minister Haryana and former Chairman, Haryana Electrical Regulatory Commission. 2. Different Paths of Yoga chaired by Dr. Gauri Mahulikar, Maharashtra Government, Viswakosh, Department of Sanskrit, University of Mmbai. 3. Meditational Techniques in Yoga chaired by Swami Krishnanandaji, Yogada Satsang Society. 4. Yoga and Education chaired by Prof. Nandita Singh, Department of Education, Panjab University. The Governor of Haryana, Punjab Haryana and Administrator UT Chandigarh, Prof. Kaptan Singh solanki, while speaking in a symposium on Yoga for Good Health held today at CII, said that “Yoga provides a holistic approach to health and well-being. Yoga, a physical, mental and spiritual practice having its origin over 6000 years ago in India, aims to integrate the body and the mind.”
