Haryana Government has released a total compensation of Rs 65.38 crore.
Chandigarh, May 16 – Haryana Government has released a total compensation of Rs 65.38 crore, including interim and final payments, to those persons whose properties were damaged in the recent agitation in the State.
While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that apart from this, private and government insurance companies have so far made payments amounting to about Rs 12,85,95,845 to the persons whose insured properties were damaged.
He said that the Government has so far received 2,078 claims for compensation, including 1,826 claims from urban areas and 238 from rural areas. Also, 14 of the claims were not in order.
He said that according to the claims, 1,789 properties, including 1,500 in urban and 289 in rural areas, were damaged. He said that Rs 22.37 crore was paid as interim assistance in 1,818 cases. This included payment of Rs 20.83 crore in 1,616 cases in urban areas and Rs 1.54 crore in 202 cases in rural areas.
The spokesman said that final compensation of Rs 43.01 crore was paid to 1,304 claimants. This included Rs 40.15 crore to 1,114 claimants in urban areas and Rs 2.86 crore to 190 claimants in rural areas.
