‘International Yoga Day’ in Chandigarh on June 21 and Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, would be present on this occasion.
Chandigarh, May 3 – Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Mr. Anil Vij, said that the Governments of Haryana and Punjab as well as Chandigarh Administration would jointly organise ‘International Yoga Day’ in Chandigarh on June 21 and Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, would be present on this occasion.
The Sports Minister, who was presiding over a high-level meeting to review arrangements being made for the success of ‘International Yoga Day’ programmes here today, said that the Central Government had decided to organise ‘International Yoga Day’ in Chandigarh this time.
He said that more than 10,000 persons from Haryana would participate in this event. The participants would include school and college students and teachers, Home Guards and Police personnel. Apart from this, yoga programmes would be organised at village, tehsil, sub-division and district levels in Haryana.
He said that the Sports and AYUSH Departments would hold yoga training camps at village, block, sub-division, district and state levels with the assistance of Yog Peeth Haridwar to educate people regarding yoga.
Those present in the meeting included Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Home, Mr. P.K. Das, ACS, Health, Mr. P.K. Mahapatra, ACS, Finance and Planning, Mr, Sanjeev Kaushal, ACS, Sports and Youth Affairs, Mr. K.K. Khandelwal, and other senior officers of different departments.
