Rs 1.84 crore have been released for treatment of 219 children suffering from heart diseases in the State-Vij
Chandigarh, April 30 – Haryana Health Minister, Mr. Anil Vij, said that Rs 1.84 crore have been released for treatment of 219 children suffering from heart diseases in the State.
While stating this here today, the Health Minister said that under the National Child Health Programme, 211 teams of Health Department have been constituted to examine children studying in government schools and registered at Anganwadi Centres across the State, for heart diseases. Such children are referred to Early Intervention Centres established in each district for examination and treatment.
Mr. Vij said that following this, those children who are diagnosed as suffering from heart diseases and are in a serious condition, are sent to government hospitals or big hospitals recognised by the government.
He said that such children are provided financial assistance of up to Rs 1.50 lakh each. They are provided treatment at PGIMS, Rohtak, PGIM ER, Chandigarh, AIIMS and other prominent hospitals. This facility is available only for children studying in government schools, he added.
