In Haryana, 63.71 lakh Metric Tonnes (MT) of wheat has so far arrived in the mandis.

Chandigarh, April 30 – In Haryana, 63.71 lakh Metric Tonnes (MT) of wheat has so far arrived in the mandis of the State, which is the highest arrival till date. As compared to it, 54.98 lakh MT of wheat had arrived in the mandis during the corresponding period last year.
While giving this information here today, a spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said that the procurement process was running smoothly in the mandis of the State.
He said that out of the total arrival, 63.70 lakh MT of wheat have been purchased by the government procurement agencies at Minimum Support Price.
Giving details of the wheat procured by government agencies, he said that more than 16.85 lakh MT of wheat has been procured by Food and Supplies Department, whereas HAFED has purchased 23.35 lakh MT of wheat. He said that Food Corporation of India has purchased 6.94 lakh MT of wheat, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation has purchased 5.73 lakh MT, and 10.80 lakh MT of wheat has been procured by Haryana Warehousing Corporation. He said that apart from this, 970 MT of wheat has been procured by traders.
He said that district Sirsa was leading in wheat arrival where more than 9.46 lakh MT of wheat has so far arrived in the mandis. District Karnal has recorded arrival of more than 6.67 lakh MT, district Jind more than 6.08 lakh MT, district Kaithal more than 5.77 lakh MT, district Fatehabad more than 5.51 lakh MT district Kurukshetra more than 4.85 lakh MT, and district Hisar has recorded arrival of more than 4.32 lakh MT. Similarly, district Sonepat has recorded arrival of more than 3.37 lakh MT of wheat, district Panipat more than 2.46 lakh MT, district Yamunanagar more than 2.43 lakh MT, district Ambala 2.41 lakh MT, district Palwal more than 2.33 lakh MT, district Rohtak more than 2.14 lakh MT and district Bhiwani 1.79 lakh MT. District Jhajjar has recorded arrival of 1.17 lakh MT of wheat, district Faridabad 87,350 MT, district Mewat 60,493 MT, district Gurgaon 49,533 MT, district Rewari 34,246 MT, Panchkula 31,197 MT and Narnaul 24,950 MT of wheat.
