Compensation of Rs 53.93 crorepaid to those whose properties were damaged in the recent agitation in the State by Haryana Govet.
Chandigarh, April 16 – Haryana Government has so far paid a total compensation of Rs 53.93 crore to those whose properties were damaged in the recent agitation in the State. This compensation included both the interim and final payment.
While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the Government has received a total of 2,077 claims for compensation. These included 1839 from urban areas and 238 from rural areas.
He said that 1,789 properties were damaged , including 1,500 in urban areas and 289 in rural areas.An interim compensation of Rs 23.31 crore has been given in 1,847 cases. This included Rs 21.77 crore paid in 1,645 cases in urban areas and Rs 1.54 crore in 202 cases in rural areas.He said that Rs 27.76 crore were paid as final compensation to 1,071 claimants in urban areas and Rs 2.86 crore to 190 claimants in rural areas.
He said that private and government insurance companies had so far made payment of about Rs 10,87,09,361 to those whose insured properties were damaged.
He said that 2,040 First Information Reports were registered during the agitation, of which 446 related to thefts , 873 related to the properties, 16 were of deaths and 705 were for blockading of roads and creating hindrance in government duty.
