Chandigarh-22-March,The 46th seven day Pracheen Kala Kendra Nritya and Sangeet Sammelan marked with the soulful Vocal recital by Sandipan Samajpati and dazzling Odissi dances by Guru Braja Mallick & Troupe at the Tagore theatre here today. On 5TH day Eminent Art Critics of India Mr. Sunil Kothari and Smt.Pandit Manas Chakraborty, his melodious and tuneful voice will capture the hearts of the listeners. She chose Raga Puriya Kalyan to open up his recital which he rendered with great sensitivity and in full control in his powerful and well-trained voice. After alap, he presented a Vilabmit khayal in ek taal, bandish “Aaye subhan bihana” and followed it up with drut laya “Jhanjariya mori nayia aan pari manjhdhar ”, in teen taal.
Keeping in view the ongoing month of Basant in mind, he doled out with Bahar rag with bols “kaisi nikasi chandani” in Madhya laya. He wrapped up his recital with Hori Thumri “kaise ki khelun holi” and mesmerizes the audience with his soulful voice. He was ably accompanied by talented Avirbhav Verma on Tabla.
Thereafter the celebrated odissi dance by Guru Braja Mallick from Odisha took the center stage with his troupe of accomplished dancers. The six dancers of troupe presented the invocatory “Mangalacharan” in which dancers paid salutation to “Lord Ganesh” in rag Bajrakanti followed by Traditional Odissi dance Sthai , a pure dance with movements of lyrical grace ,based on soft raga Mohana set to ek Taal which was choreographed by Legendary Guru Pankaj Charan Das. The performers included Debomita, Swati, Manisha, Shalini, Aliva and Arajrupa. Then they presented Pallavi, a beautiful dance presentation which mesmerized the city audience. This was followed by Abhinaya a prayer to Lord Jagannath that I don’t want this Materlistic world I just want you my God. My eyes want to see you only, my ears want to listen you only. This emotional performance followed by ShivPanchakshar set to rag Chakrabak. Then came a solo piece from Guru Braja Mallick “Vichitra Ramayana” in raag Mishra Kaushiki, thrilled the audience.
Braja’ group conclude with Panchabhuta. This composition is based on the need and influence of five basic elements jal, vayu, agni, aakash and prithvi. The composition was presented by Debomita, Swati, Manisha, Shalini, Aliva and Arajrupa with fine abhinaya and dance movements. The presentations were highly appreciated.
