To commemorate the memory of great martyrs namely Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev,a free-style National level ‘Bharat Kesri Kushti Dangal on 21 to 23 March.
Chandigarh, March 4- With a view to commemorate the memory of great martyrs namely Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev,a free-style National level ‘Bharat Kesri Kushti Dangal’ with highest ever cash prizes of Rs one crore, Rs 50 lakh and Rs 25 lakh will be organized at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Gurgaon from March 21 to March 23, 2016.
While stating this today, Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Mr Anil Vij said that it would be for the first time in the history of Haryana that such a National level event would be organized in the State.He said that this event would be an annual feature.
He said that the final match of Bharat Kesri Kushti Dangal’ would be held on the Martyrdom Day falling on March 23. He said that the wrestler securing first position would be awarded a cash prize of Rs one crore. Similarly, first-runner up wrestler would get a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh and the second- runner up wrestler would be awarded a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh. Also, all the participants would get incentive money.
The Sports Minister said that the minimum age of participating wrestlers should be 17 years and above, as on January 1, 2016, with 80 kg and more weight. Only those wrestlers could participate in this event, who have won medals in any weight category of wrestling in the last three years. Winners of first three positions in free-style and Greco-roman wrestling would also be eligible to participate in this event.
Mr Vij said that those who would participate in this Dangal would include Haryana Kesri Wrestler, Hind Kesri Wrestlers recognized by Indian Wrestling Federation, winning wrestlers of State Level Wrestling competitions of all states, winners in National Games and Army Sports Competitions, Services Sports meets, Railway Sports competitions, All India Inter-University Sports Competitions and outstanding winning wrestlers of Indian police sports events.
The wrestlers could send their applications to Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Department by March 15, 2016 and the wrestlers would have to get themselves registered in person on March 20, 2016.
