Decision of the Supreme Court on issue of Satluj-Yamuna Link (SYL) Canal would be in favour of Haryana-Khatter

Chandigarh, March 2 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal today expressed the hope that the decision of the Supreme Court on issue of Satluj-Yamuna Link (SYL) Canal would be in favour of Haryana.
The Chief Minister, who was interacting with media persons at ‘Sadhbhavna Raktdaan Shivir’ organised at Haryana Niwas here today said that the Supreme Court had accepted the petition filed by the State Government for early hearing on the issue of the SYL Canal, on which Presidential Reference was pending.
While replying to a question, he said that action would be taken against those found guilty of indulging in unlawful activities in the recent agitation in the State. Replying to another question about investigation by a retired Director General of Police into the incidents during the recent agitation, the Chief Minister said that he has started his probe today.
The Chief Minister said that with a view to promoting brotherhood in the face of recent events in the State, Ministers, Members of Legislative Assembly, Administrative Officers and employees donated blood during the ‘Sadbhavna Raktdaan Shivir’.
He said that ‘Sadbhavna Saptah’ was also being observed under which marathon, sports and cultural programmes and those like ‘Haryana Ek – Haryanvi Ek’ would be organised. Meetings would also be held to build an atmosphere of goodwill by establishing rapport between Ministers, Panches, Sarpanches and social organisations.
