Haryana Government has constituted a Steering Committee to review the progress of the Pilot Project

Chandigarh 15 February – Haryana Government has constituted a Steering Committee to review the progress of the Pilot Project of Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, regarding preparation of two new district gazetteers for Karnal and Mahendragarh. The Committee would be headed by Chief Secretary Mr. D.S. Dhesi.
While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that a notification to this effect has been issued by Revenue and Disaster Management Department.
According to the notification, the Addittional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Addittional Chief Secretary, Higher Education, Deputy Commissioners of Karnal and Mahendergarh would be the Members of the Committee whereas State Editor Gazetters-cum-Secretary to Revenue and Disaster Management Department would be the Member Secretary of the Committee.
He said that headquarters of the Committee would be at Chandigarh. The Committee would review the progress of the preparation of the two new Gazetteers of Karnal and Mahendragarh and extend all possible support to the Consultant and give suitable guidance and supervision. In the fulfillment of its terms of reference, the committee might co-opt or invite any Administrative Secretary or any Head of the Department or any other officer ex-officio as and when required, he added.
