‘Bharat Kesari Kushti Dangal’ in Gurgaon on March 23, 2016,
Chandigarh, February 9 – Haryana Government has decided to organise ‘Bharat Kesari Kushti Dangal’ in Gurgaon on March 23, 2016, on the occasion of the Martyrdom Day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. The sports person bagging the top spot in this Dangal would be given cash award of Rs one crore.
This was stated by Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Mr. Anil Vij during a meeting with eminent wrestlers and senior officers of the Department held here today.
The Minister said that this was for the first time that such an event was being organised by the Haryana Government. He said that the competition would be organised according to the rules of the Olympics.
He said that applications for the event would be invited from February 10 to 29, 2016. To be eligible to participate in this event, the participant’s age should be at least 17 years and minimum weight should be 80 kgs. He said that sports persons who represent All India Railway, universities, police department, and All India Services would be allowed to compete in this event as individuals. Similarly, sports persons from different states who have won medals at national level would also be permitted to compete as individuals, he added.
