HC notice to Punjab on petition
Dec-16(Rakesh Thakur)
A Punjab and Haryana high court bench on Tuesday issued notice to the Punjab government on a petition seeking an increase in upper age limit for recruitment of teachers of masters and lecturer cadre in state-run schools.
The notice was issued by the high court bench of justice GS Sandhawalia on a bunch of petitions, wherein it was argued that in recent past several advertisements had been issued by the Punjab State Education Recruitment Board, in which the upper age limit for recruitment to these posts was given as 37. “It takes at least three years more for a student to acquire a master’s degree than the time required by a student for acquiring requisite diploma, thus, the upper age limit for recruitment to posts of masters and lecturer’s cadre should be at least three years more than such upper age limit.
