Chandigarh, November 23, 2015: The dedicated team work of department of Health & family welfare, Social Welfare, Educational Institutions & Department of Police observed good coverage of 87707 Children.
As per directions of GOI, SNID Pulse Polio Campaign was organized on 22nd & 23rd November in U.T Chandigarh. This campaign was based on house to house activities in High Risk areas including Slums, Nomads, Construction Sites & settled HRA (High Risk Area). On day One 47966 Children upto 5 years of age were given Oral Polio Drops in 88696 Households spreading in high risk areas.
On the second day of the activities 39741 Children in 78647 household was targeted for oral polio vaccination During these activity ISBT sector-17 & Sector-43, Airport Behlana, Railways Station, Bus Stand Manimajra were also covered by 10 Mobile Teams. Dr. V.K. Gagneja, Director Health and Family Welfare appreciated the efforts and hard work of all the teams at ground level. Especially department of Police personnels.
