fraudulent caller arrested in chandigarh

Chandigarh 19 September, 2015: Sh. Surjit Singh PA to Adviser to the Administrator, Chandigarh, reported, on 17 Sept 2015 that at about 11 am, he received a call on the official telephone in which the Caller posed as an official from PMO and asked to talk to Adviser to the Administrator, Sh. Vijay Dev, IAS. Sh. Surjit Singh informed the caller that Adviser to the Administrator is not in the office. After hearing the same the caller asked for a personal favour. He called again afterwards to ensure that work should be done. Sh. Surjit Singh PA to Adviser to the Administrator found the call to be suspicious and made a complaint. 

The case under relevant sections of IPC and IT act was registered and during the course of investigation one Raj Kesarwani S/o Virender Keswani R/o # 47 Rai Pur Khurd age 24 was arrested and on his interrogation he disclosed that, on the same pretext, he had also called many other officials in Chandigarh and Panchkula for personal favors. Further investigation is being carried out by Cyber crime investigation cell of Chandigarh police, and strict action as per law shall be taken against the offender.
